Location and Access
The Astronomical
Museum is located in the historical building of the
Astronomical Observatory. The main entrance is situated
on Laprida Street nº 854. The neigborhood is called
"Observatorio", and is located about 15 blocks away
from downtown.
In the same solar is
also located the Meteorological Museum, conforming one single
set of buildings, declared as a National Monument. The
administration and workshop building of the Museum are located
in a house inside the park of the Observatory.
In
the main building of the Observatory, exhibition
rooms are open to public at the street level (Main Hall, Time
Zone, Access Halls, Library) and at the first story (Equatorial
Telescope Dome, Astrographic Telescope Dome, Upper Gallery,
etc.)
